Why we exist

Most import problems are not transport problems

A shipment rarely fails because a truck broke down. It fails because a code was wrong, a value was understated, an agency was not notified, a filing missed a deadline by six hours, or a supplier three tiers back turned out to be on a list nobody checked.

Those are all decisions made weeks before anything moves. Our work is to make sure they get asked, in the right order, by the right person — the licensed customs broker for the calls that are legally theirs to make — and that the answers are written down, so that when CBP asks a question three years later it is already in the file.

El Paso is where we do it. The Texas–Chihuahua corridor carries an extraordinary volume of manufacturing traffic, and operating here means working with maquiladora schedules, bridge queues and Mexican customs alongside US federal requirements. That combination is unforgiving, and it teaches you to plan rather than react.

How we are set up

CCS is a logistics consultancy and freight forwarder. We are not a licensed customs brokerage, we do not own trucks, and we do not operate warehouses. Classification, valuation and entry filing are customs business under federal law, and the licensed brokers we introduce you to do that work — not us. What we have is eight years of relationships with parties who do — licensed customs brokers, asset carriers, freight forwarders, drayage operators and warehouse operators, domestically and internationally.

That structure has two practical consequences for you.

  • We can choose. The right broker for a food entry is not the right broker for a steel entry. The right carrier for a Shenzhen–Long Beach FCL is not the right carrier for a Juárez crossing. We select for the lane and the commodity instead of routing everything through one provider because it is the only one we have.
  • One party owns the outcome. You are not the general contractor on your own shipment. When something is delayed, you call one number and get a real answer rather than three vendors pointing at each other.

How we work

  • Numbers before commitments. You get a landed cost — built on a classification your broker confirms — before you place a purchase order, not after the container sails.
  • Say the difficult thing early. If your product is likely to attract an AD/CVD order, if your supplier is a forced-labor risk, or if the margin does not survive the duty stack, we would rather tell you at the quoting stage than send an invoice for a detention.
  • Build the file as you go. Every shipment we handle produces a record designed to be pulled five years later, because that is the retention period the law imposes on you.
  • Stay current, in public. Trade rules have changed repeatedly in the last eighteen months. We keep the status board on this site up to date and cite the primary source, so you can check our work.

The network

A partner network built over eight years, not assembled per shipment

Reach

Routes and capacity

Access to ocean, air and ground capacity across the origins our clients actually buy from — and to the inland networks that carry it from the coast to a Texas dock.

Reliability

Depth when something breaks

Rolled bookings, port congestion, equipment shortages and exams all happen. Having more than one credible option in each lane is what turns a crisis into a phone call.

Expertise

Licensed specialists

Entry filing is done by licensed customs brokers. Regulated commodities go to brokers who handle that commodity every day, not to whoever is cheapest this quarter.

Local

Border knowledge

Bridge conditions, crossing timing, Mexican customs agents and carrier relationships in Juárez — the operational detail that only comes from working here.

Let's build a more efficient supply chain.

Whether you are importing your first container or auditing a programme that has run for a decade, start with a conversation about what you are actually moving.
